Arts and Crafts

I don't know what possessed me, but when Pey wanted to play with play-doh and we had none, I turned to Pinterest. I couldn't find the recipe I usually use, so we decided to try out some other "foam dough/moon sand" recipes.
The first one we tried called for flour, oil, food coloring powder, and essential oils.

I used olive oil and white whole wheat flour because that's what I had on hand. The essential oils Pey chose were lavender and wild orange. It did smell nice. I didn't have any powder food coloring so we used liquid, orange and yellow, and added them to the olive oil before we mixed it all together.
The next recipe just called for corn starch, shaving cream, and food coloring.

We used blue for this one, and some generic shaving cream Pey won in a silent auction basket this winter. We liked this one better, although the smell of the shaving cream is a little overpowering.
